GKSPHONE v2.7.0 is one of our biggest feature updates yet. It introduces new applications, deeper roleplay systems, more control over how the phone looks and behaves, and a refreshed design across the whole experience.
Live Activities on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen
External scripts can now surface ongoing activities directly on the phone. A delivery run, a job timer, a queue position, or any other live state can be created, updated, and ended dynamically through the new Live Activities export.
Activities appear on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen, so players can follow what is happening without opening an application. Full usage details are available in the GKSPHONE client exports documentation.
- Live Activities export support for external scripts
- Activities displayed through the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen
- Scripts can create, update, and end activities dynamically
A phone that can actually break
The new Screen Damage and Repair system gives the phone a physical presence in the city. Screens can crack from vehicle crashes, falls, water, and player death, with damage severity and repair behavior configured by the server.
Phone Health brings all of this into one place. Players can check screen condition, battery health, charging cycles, water damage, and repair information, and battery condition can now affect how quickly the phone drains depending on server configuration.
- Screen damage from vehicle crashes, falls, water, and player death
- Server-configurable damage severity and repair behavior
- Phone Health page with screen, battery, and water damage details
- Battery condition can affect battery drain
Face ID and Phone Recovery
Phones can now be unlocked with Face ID, which fails while wearing a mask and keeps PIN available as a fallback. That small detail turns a locked phone into a real roleplay object rather than a menu.
The new Phone Recovery system builds on that. Servers can configure legal repair shops or illegal black-market recovery NPCs, with locked phones recovered or unlocked through configurable price, risk, and success mechanics.
Four new applications
This release adds four applications built around everyday city life. Mechanic Request lets players call for roadside assistance and vehicle services, while mechanics receive, accept, and manage incoming jobs from their own phone.
Restaurants brings food ordering into the phone with menus, delivery or pickup, and order management for restaurant staff. Courier turns deliveries into a job players can take, with pickup and drop-off locations. Voice Memo rounds it out with recordings that can be saved, renamed, played, deleted, and shared, complete with a Live Activity while recording.
- Mechanic Request for roadside assistance and vehicle services
- Restaurants with menus, delivery or pickup, and order management
- Courier delivery jobs with pickup and drop-off locations
- Voice Memo with recording, sharing, and Live Activity support
Blink: snaps that disappear once they are watched
Blink is a new social application built entirely around temporary content. Players send photo and video snaps with captions, view duration, and multiple recipients, and chats erase themselves 24 hours after being read unless a message is saved.
Stories can be shared with friends or posted publicly with a Discover feed and viewer list, and the Live Map shows where friends last snapped, with ghost mode for players who would rather stay hidden. Friend requests, snap scores, and streaks keep the whole thing social.
- Photo and video snaps with captions, view duration, and multiple recipients
- Chats that erase themselves 24h after being read, with save, reply, and reactions
- Stories for friends or public, with a Discover feed and viewer list
- Live Map with last snap locations and ghost mode
- Friend requests, snap scores, and streaks
Focus Modes, storage, and Lock Screen shortcuts
Do Not Disturb, Work, and Sleep Focus Modes let players decide which notifications and calls get through, and each mode can be switched quickly from the Control Center.
The new Phone Storage system makes media feel finite. Photos, videos, voice memos, and messages all contribute to storage usage, a new Storage page has been added to Settings, and media creation can be restricted once the phone is full. Lock Screen shortcuts can now be customized as well.
- Do Not Disturb, Work, and Sleep Focus Modes
- Focus Modes switchable from the Control Center
- Storage usage from photos, videos, voice memos, and messages
- New Storage page in Settings with optional limits on media creation
- Customizable Lock Screen shortcuts
A refreshed design across the phone
The Home Screen has been redesigned and every application icon has been redrawn. Font sizes were revisited across the phone for better consistency, the Dynamic Island opening and closing animations were updated, and the side buttons on the iOS frame were redesigned.
- Redesigned Home Screen
- Redesigned application icons
- Updated font sizes throughout the phone
- New Dynamic Island opening and closing animations
- Redesigned iOS phone frame side buttons
- Older iOS modals replaced with the new interface design
- Services bell button replaced with a Tab Bar
Improvements and fixes
Popovers and UI styling in Flare message details have been improved, various SQL queries have been fixed and optimized, and this release includes general UI, backend, and performance improvements across the phone. A new export for resetting phones has also been added for developers.
"v2.7.0 is about giving the phone weight in the city: it can break, it can fill up, and it can be taken from you."- GKSHOP Team
